Carbon assimilation and carbon partitioning in trees

Stellenanangebot Postdoc Position (f/m/d) in Umeå | Schweden

Stellenbeschreibung

A post-doctoral scholarship is available in the Niittylä group at the Umeå Plant Science Centre and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) to study carbon assimilation and carbon partitioning in trees.

The project builds on our recent work on starch metabolism and carbon allocation in trees and Arabidopsis (Dominquez et al 2021; Wang et al. 2022; Fuenfgeld et al. 2022). We are now looking for a postdoc scientist who will use functional genomics and carbon-13 isotope flux measurements to investigate the mechanisms of carbon partitioning between storage and growth in trees.

Applicants should have a PhD in plant molecular biology, plant biochemistry or plant physiology and a genuine interest to carry out experimental plant research with a focus on trees. Wet lab molecular biology skills are important and previous experience on metabolite and/or metabolic flux analysis are highly desirable. English fluency and publication of the PhD work in peer-reviewed high-quality journal(s) is required.
