Together with the Swiss Fruit Association, Agroscope, and the Environmental Policy Lab at ETH Zurich, our group was awarded funding from the RESPONSE Doctoral Programme for a PhD (doctoral student) position to study the climate resilience of apple production systems in Switzerland.

We are looking for a motivated student with interdisciplinary training in socioeconomic, environmental, or plant sciences; or has concentrated training in one of those areas and would like to complement those skills going forward. Travel throughout Switzerland will be required to conduct on-​site interviews with apple producers and assess orchard characteristics. Language proficiency in German, French, and English is desired.

The three-​year fellowship will be based in Zurich, with a four-​month internship at the Swiss Fruit Association in nearby Zug.
